Manual Machinist

We are seeking a Manual Machinist to join our team in Brookhaven, PA.

This opportunity involves using manual lathes and manual Milling machines to fabricate a variety of hydraulic components, such as threaded rods, cylinder tubes, pistons, and glands.

Job Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily operation and maintenance of the various manual machines. Including lathes, milling machines (horizontal and vertical)
  • Making drawings based on sample components
  • Documenting your work and each component
  • Working with Co-workers to complete tasks on time and ensure quality standards are met
  • Keeping your work area safe and clean

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics or controls
  • Ability to work with basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations including addition, subtraction, fractions, measurement, and percentages and converting between metric and standard measurements.
  • Ability to use and read micrometers and calipers.

What you bring

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school or apprenticeship program in Machine Shop technology; OR three or more years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of speeds and feeds for machining all types of metals, Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to take accurate measurements
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 – 70 lbs.
  • Know how to operate an overhead crane (preferred)
  • Ability to use a forklift (preferred)
